Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about the 2026 USCIS fee schedule
What is the USCIS fee schedule for 2026?
The 2026 USCIS fee schedule is published in Form G-1055 (Edition 05/06/26). Base fees remain unchanged from the April 2024 rule, but HR-1 (signed July 2025) added new mandatory fees. Key 2026 fees:
- I-130 Family Petition: $625 online / $675 paper
- I-485 Adjustment of Status: $1,440 (paper only)
- N-400 Naturalization: $710 online / $760 paper
- I-140 Employer Petition: $665 online / $715 paper
- I-90 Green Card Renewal: $365 online / $415 paper
How much is the online filing discount?
USCIS offers a $50 discount for most forms filed online through the myUSCIS account portal. The discount applies to: I-130, I-140, I-539, I-751, I-765 (standard), I-90, N-400, N-565, N-600, I-290B, I-601, I-601A, and others.
The $50 online discount does not apply to: I-485, I-131, I-907 (premium processing), HR-1 statutory fees, or the Asylum Program Fee.
Can I get a USCIS fee waiver in 2026?
Fee waivers (Form I-912) are available for applicants who qualify based on:
- Receipt of a means-tested public benefit (Medicaid, SNAP, SSI, etc.)
- Household income at or below 150% of Federal Poverty Guidelines
- Financial hardship (case-by-case review)
Fee waivers are not available for premium processing, Asylum Program Fee, HR-1 statutory fees, USCIS Immigrant Fee ($235), or biometric services when included in a base fee.
What are the new HR-1 fees and do they affect me?
HR-1 (One Big Beautiful Bill Act, Pub. L. 119-21) created new mandatory fees effective July 22, 2025. These affect you if:
- Filing I-589 (asylum): New $100 one-time filing fee + $100 annual maintenance fee
- Entering on certain nonimmigrant visas: $24 I-94 arrival record fee
- Certain parolees applying for EAD: $560 initial or $280 renewal statutory fee on top of standard I-765 fee
- Employers petitioning H-1B workers: Asylum Program Fee ($600 large / $300 small employer) already in effect since April 2024
If you're filing standard family petitions, green card applications, or naturalization, HR-1 fees generally don't add extra costs beyond what's already included.
When do USCIS fees get updated?
USCIS base fees change infrequently — the last major update was April 1, 2024. Future base fee changes require a rulemaking process with public notice. HR-1 statutory fees, however, are automatically adjusted each January using the CPI-U inflation index. We update this page whenever USCIS publishes changes. Always verify at uscis.gov/forms/our-fees before filing.
