Step 1 — Relationship to beneficiary
Immediate relatives = spouse, unmarried children under 21, and parents of adult US citizens. All others fall under preference categories. The I-130 fee is the same for both.
Step 2 — Filing method
Step 3 — Number of petitions
One I-130 is required per beneficiary. If you are sponsoring multiple family members, each needs a separate petition at the full fee.

💡 Concurrent filing: If the beneficiary is already in the US and eligible, you can file I-130 together with I-485, I-765, and I-131 in a single package — saving time but paying all fees at once.
⚠️ This fee only: I-130 is just the petition. The green card itself requires I-485 (if in the US) or consular processing fees — both are additional.
