ℹ️ Common I-539 uses:
- Extend B-1/B-2 tourist or business stay
- Change from F-1 to B-2 after graduation
- Extend or change dependent (H-4, L-2, O-3) status
- Change from J-2 to another nonimmigrant status
⚠️ File before status expires: You must file I-539 before your current authorized stay expires. Filing timely keeps you in a period of authorized stay while USCIS processes your application.
